A Brief Introduction to The Little Dinos and The Miraculous South Natural Science Museum Park

The Little Dinos is a 26-episodes scientific cartoon, which is the first sub-section of the 8 part series "The Miraculous South Natural Science Museum Park". This series has been independently produced by Guangdong South Natural Science Museum Park Co. Ltd.

Everyday science is the theme; the combination of popular science and scientific fantasy is the art form. Using the cartoon art in large visual angle and long span, The Little Dinos presents the birth, development, domination and extinction of the dinosaurs. The dinosaurs as the largest species dominated the earth for over 160 million years. It represents the dinosaur wonders in the Triassic, the Jurassic and the Cretaceous times, fusing the miraculous pre-historical environment and living creatures. The concepts of the universal evolution, geological change, species evolution and ecological balance, in combination with all kinds of scientific knowledge, subtly bring to light the idea of modern scientific theory that all species are closely linked.

The cartoon is also a great inspiration to the development of the modern mankind, to increase the awareness of environmental protection, sustained and reasonable development, the pan-universal ideal that all creatures are living in harmony, and to the protection of our home, the earth.

Each of the episodes is 13 minutes long, and it is a comparatively independent element although there is a coherent theme throughout. The characters, as the image brands, are from alien territory. They come to earth, using flight machines made from alien highly advanced technology. They bring to earth scanning quantum telescopes, geological instruments, gene surveying instruments and other kinds of machines.

With the ideal of peace, development, justice and harmony, Xander, Danny, and Amy go back to the earth to visit their ancestors, trying to save the planet from all kinds of disaster and realize the unity and harmony of the universe. With the help of Dr. Lin, they experience the most interesting and arduous travel, resolving the doubts and suspicions of the dinosaur world one by one. On the other hand, Terrevil and his goons violate the scientific moral principles. They attempt to use genetic methods to clone monsters Super-Lives No 1, 2 and 3 to destroy the earth and mankind, in order to dominate the universe. However, justice is sure to defeat evil. Terrevil's conspiracy is destroyed by Xander's advanced Nano technology.

The special creation of complex plots and funny characters are created with consummate skill, at the same time, the soul-stirring contradictions and adventure satisfy the interest and curiosity of the children. While enjoying the adventure, this cartoon helps them to learn and understand much scientific knowledge.

There are 26 episodes to The Little Dinos. The 1st and the 2nd episodes are introduction. They show two alien forces come to earth and in due course meet Dr. Lin. The two forces pursued their respective prehistoric exploratory routes, and this shows their different intentions.

The core of the whole cartoon is from episode three to episode twenty-three, which show that the whole Mesozoic time from Triassic to Cretaceous lasted 160 million years. In these episodes, the leading characters are all kinds of dinosaurs discovered in China. The ecological environment and habitats of many kinds of dinosaurs are showed vividly. At the same time, a fierce conflict develops between the two alien forces, which centers two contrasting aims. One is to save the dinosaurs, to protect the earth and to live in harmony. The other is to exterminate them, to destroy earth and to dominate all things. At the end, the unjust force failed.

24th-26th episodes are most important, as they show the extinction of the dinosaurs. Many different potential reasons for dinosaur distinction are investigated and at the same time it makes people aware the lessons that can be learned from the extinction of a powerful species.

2D and 3D effects are combined in this cartoon. Scientific knowledge is interwoven with the story line. Besides international broadcasting, The Little Dinos will be broadcast by more than 200 TV stations in China this year.
